Ingredients

urad dhuli dal   1 cup
oil                       2-3tsp
haldi                   1/2 tsp
salt                      1 tsp
laung                   2
chotti elaichi       2
tomato                 1-2
onion                    1
ginger                  1/2"
dhania powder    1/2 tsp
gram masala       1/2 tsp
chilli powder       1/2 tsp
green chilli          1

METHOD

  1. Wash dal many times to clear powdered water.Soak it for 1/2 an hour.
  2. Boil the dal with 1 cup water,1 tsp oil,haldi,salt,laung and elaichi.
  3. Cook till one whistle comes. Release the whistle after 1-2 minutes.
  4. Heat 1-2 tbsp oil in a pan.Add chopped onion and ginger and saute till golden brown.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes and green chilli  and cook for 2-3 minutes till tender.
  6. Add dhania powder,gram masala and chilli powder and saute for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Mix this tadka in dry dal and garnish with coriander and chilli ghee.
