DRY FRUIT BHALLA

Ingredients

urad dhuli dal           1/2 cup
moong dhuli dal       1/2 tbsp
hing.                           a pinch
kaju.                            2 tbsp
kishmish.                    15-20
jeera                            1/2 tsp
desiccated coconut  3 tbsp
ginger optional          1/4 tsp
green chilli optional  1/4 tsp
coriander optional.   1/2 tsp

Method


  1. Wash both the dals few times and soak for 4-5 hours .
  2. Strain the water. Grind both the dals coarsely in mixer grinder using little water.
  3. Beat dal in a big vessel with hands or with mixer for 7-8 minutes till light and fluffy.
  4. Mix the hing in 1 tbsp water and mix in the dal mixture.
  5. Mix chopped kaju,kishmish,coconut,ginger,green chilli and coriander in a bowl.
  6. Heat oil in the kadahi and heat it enough to fry the bhallas.
  7. Take a small bowl or plate,wrap a wet nylon cloth or handkerchief on it.
  8. Take a big spoon of dal on cloth,flattened it with wet hands,put some dry-fruit  mixture on it and overlap it like gujia ,stick some jeera with wet hands on gujia.
  9. Fry it in hot oil.Fry on medium heat till light brown,
  10. Dip fried bhallas in salty warm water for 2 hours.
  11. Gently press the bhallas to remove excess water.Place them in a serving plate.
  12. Top it with beated dahi ,imli chutney and sprinkle some salt ,chilli powder and cumin powder.
