CHOCOLATE DOUGHNUT

Ingredients

maida.                       2 cup
dry yeast.                  1 tsp
sugar                         2 tbsp
warm milk                1/2 cup
butter                        1/4 cup
salt.                           1/2 tsp
oil.                            1 tsp
maida(for dusting).  1/2 cup
oil ( for frying)         11/2 cup

chocolate sauce

chocolate (chopped). 13/4 cup
cream.                         1 cup
butter.                          1 tsp

Method

  1. Combine dry yeast,sugar,11/2 tbsp of lukewarm water in a small bowl and mix well.
  2. Cover with the lid and keep aside for 30 minutes so that the yeast mixture become frothy.
  3. Combine milk and butter in a small bowl.Mix well and keep aside.
  4. Take maida in a bowl and put salt and mix well.
  5. Then add yeast sugar mixture and mix well.
  6. Add milk butter mixture gradually and knead a soft dough.
  7. Add oil and knead again till smooth and elastic.
  8. Divide the dough into 2 equal parts and sprinkle some maida on a dry surface and roll the dough into a thick surface.
  9. Cut the dough in 3 circle with a round glass.Cut these circle from centre with a small cap of any bottle.Then discard the small round portion from centre.
  10. Place these doughnuts on a butter paper in a plate.
  11. Make more doughnuts from the remaining dough.
  12. Cover these doughnuts with another butter paper while avoiding any contact with them and keep aside in a warm place for 2 hours.
  13. After 2 hours you will see that they will rise to double.
  14. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry them in a slow flame one by one,till they turn golden brown from both sides.Drain on an absorbent paper and keep aside.
For chocolate sauce 
  1. In a non stick pan ,heat cream. Cook on a slow flame for 2-3 minutes,while stirring constantly.
  2. Remove pan from the flame,add chocolate and butter and mix well,till the chocolate melts and keep aside.
Finalizing
  1. Dip one half of each doughnut in a chocolate sauce and place them on a plate.
  2. Decorate the doughnut with gems or any edible coloured balls.
  3. Serve immediately or keep in refrigerator in a air tight container for 2-3 days.
